Tibetian dates identification

5 posts • viewed 54 times

Hi Everyone,

I have 2 Tibetan sho coins which I'm unable to read the dates despite having access to an online calendar Calendar. Can I request someone with a more trained eye to help?

Im sharing only the dated side to avoid confusion for both coins

Many thanks!

I'm sorry but the side with the date is the reverse, you're showing the obverse.

Apologies for my ignorance.

Attached are the pics of the other side

First coin:

Clockwise:

Blue oval: horizontal legend

1ste red circle = CY

2nd red circle = CLE

3rd red circle = 15

1st green circle = YEAR

2nd green circle = 59

Calculation: Number of cycles -1, x 60 + number of years + 1026

So: 15 - 1 X 60 + 59 + 1026 = 1925

The same for second coin:

Horizontal legend

Cycle 16

Year 1

Calculation: Number of cycles -1, x 60 + number of years + 1026

So: 16 - 1 X 60 + 1 + 1026 = 1927

You still have to check the dots for the exact 1927 year line.
