Which note is depicted?

I have 3 x portrait 2 Dollar banknotes from Singapore (N#202244).  They all look very much like the banknote depicted, with 2 dots on the top right side and the same signature, but I can't decide which notes mine are out of the 18 listed.  Which note is depicted?

Also, how do you date Singapore banknotes?

as stated in the comments on the page you linked :

"Years of issue are coded with geometrical symbols below word "EDUCATION" on reverse of note."

Just call me Bram

No new swaps for the moment, still too many half-ongoing swaps to clean up!

Thanks - it's because I have none with any symbols and there are no named signatures on the page that has caused the confusion - i.e. all from 2006.

Maybe the examples at the top of each page should have the bank signature named.

also check the yearline comments about serial numbers, they also help!

If your notes do not have any symbol below the word Education, then that would be the first polymer issue with the signature of Goh Chok Tong. The next reprint was issued in or around 2008/2009 with a tiny square. It should be noted that the year dates listed here are not entirely accurate. Most of these dates listed are based on observation by collectors. New notes issued in this little Red Dot are based on public demand, and are usually released around the end of the year (November/December) or the beginning of the new year (usually January) in readiness for the Chinese New Year celebrations. Some new notes are also issued like before the Muslim Ramadan, and people in that part of the world like to hand out cash in red/green packets to celebrate new years.

Similar question: is there an accurate list of which years are matched with which symbols?

For example I have a note with one diamond, it has the serial number 5BC251409

Is that 2011 or 2015?

It was sold as a 2015 but the Numista catalogue says 2011. And my prefix is earlier than what the catalogue says

Unfortunately the authority MSA does not provide such info. New notes are usually released around December or early January in readiness for the Chinese New Year demand. In Singapore/Malaysia, they used to open up new teller counters for customers to get new UNC banknotes for the Chinese New Year. I am not sure if they still do that, as a couple of years ago (during Covid), the government in Singapore encouraged the people to use circulated notes that are still in great condition.

Of course, MAS also released new banknotes as and when required, like before Ramadan and when there is a public demand for it. To find out when a particular note was released, this is all relying on sightings by collectors or dealers in Singapore. Below is the list I have for my records:

$2 - Goh Chok Tong

2006 - no symbol

2009? - solid square

2009 - 2-soild square

2011 - triangle

2011 - 2-triangle

$2 - Tharma Shanmugaratnam

2013 - diamond

2015 - 2-diamond

2016 - solid star

2017 - 2-hollow star, hollow star, 2-solid star

2018 - 3-soild star

2019 - 3-hollow star

2019 - solid house

2020 - 2-solid house

2023 - 3-solid house

2024 - inverted triangle

If you have all in your collection, you have done well. I am still missing the 2024 prints.

Thanks Ahkai

For sure I won't get those all, I have just 5 so far! The single diamond is interesting, I may make a modification request to change that to 2013 then, and change the prefix start also.

What I definitely want is a whole orchid series but that's another matter…

Me too. I have the $1, $5, $10, 25, $50, $100 and $500 in various conditions and not from the same signature series. The $10,000 is a killer, and finding the $1000 is not cheap either.
