what does 'rhinoceros' mean on the Monaco 1 euro catalogue entry? [solved]

The word ‘rhinoceros’ appears as only choice when adding Monaco 1 euro coins starting 2021, however, I don't find any explanation of what it means in this context or elsewhere in the forum, nor with quick google search with regards to Monaco coins.

What does it mean here or why is it included if it is the only choice for those years?

Rather than make members look for the page it would be helpful to include the link.

Token collector [1600-1899] with some coins

I was sat here after reading the above and looking at the link then the mint picture and still couldn't work out what was going on 😄

After staring at the mint mark for a bit I can see it now its a stylized framed rhino's head - solid circle being the nostril, hollow circle the eye.

It reminds me of those pictures they show you made up out of dots you can't always work it out and when you do you can't un-see it.

Blimey I need to go and lay down in a darkened room after that 🤣

'stylized framed rhino's head' - yes, could be. Thanks

For those who still aren't seeing it … slapped a bit of colour on the shape ….. gave him grey skin and a blue eyeball… rhino facing left with two horns 😁

Perhaps Ole would update his graphic and add Joaquin Jimenez?  @Sjoelund Any way to tell how many coin pages it is on?

Thanks for the color DizzyBlue but I'm still not seeing it. Here's how it's described on other pages, “Joaquin Jimenez, since 2021, a mark of a square with a circle and a broken line in the small square.”

Is this what you want to use?

I haven't a clue how often it's used? As such it could be on any coin page from 2021 to now for all French minted coins….in all French “territories”😔 If you have an idea how to do the search, your're welcome to replace the graphics😇

Well, I see you have updated it before probably before anyone knew it was supposed to be a rhinoceros.  I do like your description of “Squares” though.  I have no idea how to know where it has been used. Thanks for the response.

Edit:  Some interesting reading:  http://www.worldofcoins.eu/forum/index.php?topic=49289

Try this to show you the rhino rsirian1 😁 both left facing….

Two horns eyeball nostril and a sloped head…. real rhino (Sumatran in photo but white and black also have two horns) and the stylised one (coloured in obviously)….

Yes, it’s obvious now.

Sorry @ZacUK for missing the link to the coin in question and thanks for adding it;

and, to@DizzyBlue for the images, now the ‘rhino’ namesake is superclear to me and to others who might search for this topic on the forum.

Thanks a lot 😊

Sjoelund

A search for Joaquin Jimenez, 2021-2024 and Monnaie de Paris mint gives 532 results. I have no idea how to easily search for which ones contain a graphic that should be updated.

I should think this (search for all under the global France)

would do it?

2021-2024 / France would get you close but not include countries other than France like this one: N#1811

Also, the date should be 2021-2024. 2019-2024 would include ones like this:  N#247070

Here's the search I was suggesting:  THIS

You're right, but who'll do that job?

With the ‘other mark feature’ I don't think this list picture is even needed anymore.

I can see it now! Very abstract. Thankyou

Right you are, so we just have to delete that, where we find it…..
