Golden Susan B. Anthony Dollar? [solved]

I have a 1979 Susan B Anthony Dollar from the U.S.A. It's supposed to be silver in colour, but mine is golden. Is this another variety that has not been registered on Numista, or has someone just gold plated a perfectly good coin?

Most likely plated.
There are a lot of current and past U.S, coins being done in this manner. There are several "mint" companys that do this with statehood quarters as well as other coins and then sell them for 5x face value.

Similarly in the UK, old pennies are gold plated by jewellers etc. Personally I find them macabre, but some old ladies like them.

At least it's not "colorized" - my pet hate. Severe mutilation of both the coin and the English language.

We hates them.
Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.

I have a gold-plated 1979 Susan B as well.  It does nothing to improve its value, but I think its a brilliant idea that should be done to all of them.
