Due to the overprinted Rigsdaler banknotes from the late 1700, we need a bank of issue to cover them.

I'm not completly sure which bank.

The original bank of issue is Courantbank in Copenhagen

But the issuere/overprinter seems to be St. Croix (bank?).

There is no information about such bank on the big web though.

Siegs Seddelkatalog 2014 doesn't give much information either.

One of the banknotes, as an example:

N#433305

Maybe one of the referees have an opinion: @titus17 or @Hibernia  ?

Always tricky, these ones.

The Capital was on St. Thomas 1672-1754, and moved to St. Croix in 1754. It was moved back to St. Thomas in 1871.

I believe government notes would have been issued for the Capital by default.

As such, I would suggest a bank title of  ‘Courantbank - St. Croix’ for any notes issued in the period 1754-1871; and St. Thomas for other issue periods.

Commercial bank issuers were also issuing for both St. Thomas and St. Croix.
An interesting note is this one of the Colonial Bank < N#342568 >, which had its main branch on St. Thomas, and issued notes for St. Croix by means of adding an overstamp – this follows common Colonial Bank note-issue practice at the time.

"It is only when an item bears the name or logo of, for instance, a bank or a company which is at the origin of its issue, that this entity is considered as an issuing entity. Any institution linked to the coin or note but not represented or named on it can be described in comments, but not in the “issuing entity” field."
