Help identifying coin found in northern Tuscany

Found this coin in our vegetable beds today. Northern Tuscany (Pistoia province). Any help identifying it would be fantastic!

 Looks like second picture has something like GATE lettering near the top. About 22mm diameter. 

Token collector [1600-1899] with some coins

The lettering looks like …TO PREGATO to me (or maybe it's PREGATE). So, something about praying. Then just below and to the left, …ORIA… And roughly on the opposite side of the reverse, I see what looks like MARIA, with PER below that. On the obverse is what appears to be a crowned figure, maybe with a sceptre. My speculation is that this might be a prayer token of some kind.

Further searching suggests it is indeed a religious token, depicting the Holy Face of Lucca.
