Help identifying Challenge

I have 2 items I found in my local coin shops junk bin. Was hoping for a little help.

Copper?

2.2g

18.75mm

The A  on the left side of the bust, if you rotate it 90° counter clockwise and it appears as 14 with the other mark next to it.

Pretty sure on the left side of the reverse is “CAFE”

Wood

4.2g

29.15mm

8.2 thick

I was thinking this is a game piece. But I thought for a quarter I would see what can be found out.

Thank you

(1) I don't know what the first one is.

(2)  However, the wooden piece is an embossed wooden checker from an old Checkers set made by Halsam:  “Halsam Products”: a long gone Chicago, Illinois toy maker company.

That particular design was from their "Comet Special" checkers set.  A few examples from eBay:

1) May be a roman coin (ex: Sicily coin from Marcus Aurelius)

Thank you both very much.
