Requesting to add multiple missing currencies for Allied Military Currencies as currently only Germany has the correct currency for its AMC notes.

New currencies:

  • the name of the currency in English: Allied Military Lira
  • the issuer (as they appear on Numista) where this currency was used, and the corresponding date range: Italy, 1943-1950
  • if they already exist, the link of one or more Numista records that you want to classify under this currency: N#205635  /  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AM-Lira

  • the name of the currency in English: Allied Military Yen ("A" Yen)
  • the issuer (as they appear on Numista) where this currency was used, and the corresponding date range: Japan, 1945-1948
  • if they already exist, the link of one or more Numista records that you want to classify under this currency: N#203388  /  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_yen

  • the name of the currency in English: Allied Military Yen ("B" Yen)
  • the issuer (as they appear on Numista) where this currency was used, and the corresponding date range: Japan, 1946-1958
  • if they already exist, the link of one or more Numista records that you want to classify under this currency: N#203389  /  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B_yen

Is there a source explaining why they would be separate currencies ?

They are the same Lira / Franc / Yen currency right, simply issued by another Entity than the country itself?

They are the same type of currency yes but are issued by a different authority then the main currency.

I will leave it to the power at be that are more knowledgeable in these things then I am to make the decision on whether to add them or not. If they are not add though, I would argue to remove the Allied Military Mark currency type from the site that all AMC Germany notes are listed as in order to keep thing consistent.

It just doesn‘t make sense to have some of these currencies as unique types and not others.
