Why is the Numista Robot Validating Sales Requests automatically?

The Robot is unchecked when adding past auctions. See my recent comment here: https://en.numista.com/forum/topic114440.html#p1207139
Yes it is validating these without the referee even knowing about them.
Unless the referee looks at all processed requests there is no way to know how many mistakes he is making?
I can go in and delete this erroneous request but should we let the Robot do this unchecked?
Mike
If you count “Undetermined” year line reference when it is clearly shown on the coin or in the text as a mistake I would guess the percentage is well above 50. Of the two I fixed recently, one had an error rate of 43% (46 of 108) and the other 100% (8 of 8) so I would say we need a human with eyes in the loop. I should mention that the one with an error rate of 43% had many of the correct auctions added before the Robot took over.
Poke @Xavier on this.
Would you be ok with increased number of requests from Robot with these auction sales being added?
Hello,
The robot relies on information in the lot description written by Katz. For this lot (https://katzauction.com/lot/824670), they made a typo and entered the number 3915 instead of 39150.
I can adjust the robot so that the sales records from Katz are not added directly but go through referee validation.
That would be 220 requests per day on average, mainly for Eastern Europe.
Let me add @silvergeek @imreh @SouthViking @mk83 @oldves @Grinya in the discussion, as they would be among the most impacted referees.
I would not count “undetermined” year line as an error. I believe it's acceptable to have sales records not associated with year lines.
I'm against 220 requests per day:)
If I see mistakes or missed information, I correct them.
My only request for the automatic additions of sales from Katz is that Mr. Robot shall put the price including auction fees that are quite high for Katz auctions (maximum of 24,2% from the sale price and 5 EUR as I remember) and without them coins in the Numista catalogue may become to be underevaluated

Yeah 220 requests per day is going to be a nightmare
220 request per day is the overall number for all referees. On average, based on the sales of the past year, it would be:
Auctions are not really hard to verify though, you can do them every couple days or once a week etc. and verify them in bulk in a few minutes. But we need a way to edit such requests right there like for creation requests so when something is wrong you don't need to go back to each catalog page and auction list to correct them without needlessly rejecting 50%+ auction requests.

Hello, would it be technically possible to receive a notification, rather than a validation request? that way we wouldn’t be a bottleneck but could check as needed/possible.
I’d rather have these come to me first vs needing to weed them out later. There are too many bad ones getting through right now.

220 request per day is the overall number for all referees. On average, based on the sales of the past year, it would be:
- France: 6.8 requests / day
- Austrian Empire: 6.5 requests / day
- Russian - Civil war issues: 6.5 requests / day
- Russian Empire: 6.3 requests / day
- Czechoslovakia: 5.5 requests / day
- Germany (1871-1948): 5.2 requests / day
- Soviet Union: 5.1 requests / day
- Romania: 4.3 requests / day
- Hungary: 4.3 requests / day
- Italy: 4.0 requests / day
- United States: 3.9 requests / day
- Spain: 3.5 requests / day
Ok that is doable

Hi Xavier, I think we can do it between the two referees from Spain, but as the main referee (that's how I consider it), I prefer @zegeri to confirm my opinion.
Theoretical wild thought - what if such Robot requests were shared between referees and master-referees? We could have a delay before they are availlable to master-referees to ensure referees who want to have complete control will have time to check them, and those who might not have that much time will get help from master-referees.
PS: This could apply to other requests coming from Robot, which could come in the future.
We can cope with it. Better if could edit the request, like @Idolenz says.

Hi Xavier, I think I could do a bit, because it's the holidays in France, but it might be complicated on my own.
I have deleted that spurious Sales Record on the New Zealand 50 cent page - Mike

Hello, I think that the mentioned quantity for Czechoslovakia should be doable in cooperation with my co-referee @oldves. I also agree with the potentially wild thought mentioned by @Jarcek that unresolved Robot requests might be available to master-referees (after some reasonable delay)… Happy New Year to everyone!

Hi, I agree with my co-referee@mk83 that it is manageable quantity for us. Happy New Year!
What is going on here? Can't blame Katz for misidentifying these. These auctions were attached to the USA 1 Cent page N#43 Why aren't the referees in the approval process yet?

Would there be a way we could maybe separate robot requests from user request? I just think I would work more smoothly with it because it is much quicker to deal with those that user request.

My understanding is that all user requests go through referees for approval. Only Robot added ones bypass the referees. Am I wrong?
Robot requests also need referee approval
I see there is some confusion.
Robot is doing some automatic work where we are sure that fixing it is making no harm. That is for example a deletion of double space within description field.
Then where we are not 100% sure, robot sends requests.
Apart from that, auction sales are imported through the robot, and I guess it is time for Katz auction sales to be put through request system.

I get so many requests from other people to add the right year and mintmark to so many Katz auction’s since the bot can not pick up which one it is by the text

It was mainly Katz auctions added by Mr. Robot that were the problem. Then I saw these today where Katz didn't misidentify them and the other non-Katz auctions.
