Open or Closed '3' on a UK 3 pence 1893? I need to be sure. [solved]

Hi All! I know what I think as to whether this is an open or closed ‘3’ on this lovely UK 3 pence 1893, but as I wish to sell it, I need to be certain. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, AY

I couldn't find any pictures of a coin listed as an open 3 but plenty listed as a closed 3. These 2 were certified by NGC as closed.

Thanks for that rsirian1. I had looked at some examples on eBay, but couldn't make up my mind. These two photographs would indicate, then, that I am wrong. I thought that it was an open ‘3’ because, however small the gaps are, they can be seen. ‘Open’ and ‘closed’, then, refer to the differences in the font used. The two pictures that you have kindly uploaded here would seem to be even more open than mine, although they are closed.

A case of wishful (or simply incorrect) thinking has been put to rest. It's still a sweet little coin. I'm glad I own it and can give any potential customers the correct information. I paid 2.50 NZD for this coin.

I might leave this topic open for a couple of hours. Thanks again, AY
