Hello, my city is going to have a numismatics exhibition and I am beyond excited, it is going to be on 1st of January🥳
Happy new year colleague, did you go to the exhibition?
Hi!!,
Thank you for asking
I did, turns out it is from 1-6 January so I might go again but there are heavy chances of rain so maybe not :/,
The exhibition was wonderful (you can check pictures from Instagram status of the exhibition @1440sans), there were mostly people dealing in PMG certified banknotes or certified coins & Saudi or Middle Eastern banknotes only as people like collecting them as assets or artifacts here but that is exactly opposite of my choice which is simple foreign circulating banknotes or coins, I did find one to two stalls dealing in them :D
Here is the inside of the exhibition (it was in a mall)
and here is my haul -

I am so happy that I got a chance to visit the exhibition but sadly I think I feel like I was ignored or regarded as a kid at many stalls, I took my excess coins to exchange/swap but everyone thought I am a kid or child which to be honest felt sad because even though I am 17, I love numismatics and they should honor that but they didn't, one stall even pushed me away when I asked the price for a certified banknote :/, although few stalls did respect me as a fellow and props to them for that :D.
I got all of this for under $15 dollars and I am really happy :DD, I wish they were more numismatists more welcoming here but it's fine, I got to enjoy the atmosphere and I am super glad :D.
and also, Happy New Year to you too!! :D
Nice pictures & great haul! (thanks for sharing) 😀
Sorry to hear about the disrespect & mistreatment at some of the stalls. Sadly, this phenomenon occurs in North America too: I have read similar comments by young collectors from many parts of the globe. Its very unprofessional & a “kick in the head to the hobby” metaphorically speaking. If only these sales ignoramuses stopped to think that you may snub them next time you have more money in your pockets! Anyway, don't take it personal & try to focus on the positive aspects of what you experienced. Happy collecting in 2025!

Thank you so much for your kind message @Serial_Number_8 , that is very sad to hear indeed, to make matters worse, numismatics as a hobby is slowly fading and dying away, more and more countries are switching to online options making it a vulnerable hobby in future, the numismatists around the world should hold more events inviting the youth and paving way for them to pursue this beautiful hobby, at the exhibition I was the only under 30 person, what I am saying by this is that numismatic clubs around the world should pave way for the youth and women too!
If you are reading this, please don't ignore or push away a young numismatist instead try to strike up a conversation with them or at least be welcoming
Once again, I thank you for your message and I wish you lots of coins and banknotes of your choice to find their way to you :D!
