hello

is there any difference between p40c and  p46b germany banknotes?
im taking about 20 mark 1910 (with watermark) and 20 mark 1914.
Signatures are the same, watermark is the same, and fibers on both

Banknote: 20 Mark (Germany(1910 Issue - Reichsbanknote, Imperial Bank Notes) Wor:P-40c,Ros:R-41 💴

Banknote: 20 Mark (Germany(1914 Issue - Reichsbanknote, Imperial Bank Notes) Wor:P-46b,Ros:R-47b 💴

40c : Issued 21st Apr 1910 Watermark : 20 Mark

46b : Issued 19th Feb 1914, 7 digit Serial Number

Well yeah except the year which is different. Serial digits are the same

That's the main difference. The type 40 C variant has a watermark from series K onwards.

A new directory was elected 1914 (with the same members) which lead to type 46.

Ask Krause why they chose that number designation.

for those searching themselves … on numista they are all on the same page:
