Help ID counter marked Princely State coin

1 post • viewed 39 times

I received this coin a few days ago from a member of my coin club. It came with a piece of paper that had some ideas on what it could be, but I don't think they match when comparing them to numista's pictures. I do believe it is from Jodhpur.

Weight: ~20.5 grams

Diameter: ~20 mm (hard to be exact, not perfectly round)

Composition: Copper or Bronze

Aside from Identifying exactly what it is, it has come curiosities I want your input on. On what I think is the reverse is an intentional looking and very deep cut. On the side (so thick they were able to counter mark it 💀) is the name "BUNDY." Because of this counter mark I believe the gash must be intentional. My theory is it could be referring to the other Princely State of Bundi, and it was counter marked for use in Bundi (maybe by the British?), possibly because of a coinage shortage? Your input on this is greatly appreciated 😁
