I may have posted this request some time back, but if so, it was so long ago I've forgotten. I have an Ottoman coin ( of 20 para, Abdul Mecid yr 4, 1258) with a counter stamp - ‘N’. Has anyone any idea what the N might stand for? I assume it for some Greek community in Anatolia. It's difficult to make out the ‘N’ on the photo but it's in the middle of the Toughra on the obverse of the coin.
