Mine (below) was found in amongst a bag of assorted coins from a charity shop.  Total paid, probably less than £2 for the bag.  

 

  • Value of the item - Pennies (depends more on how many people you can find who really really want one). Maybe, £1 at best.
  • Cost - I have no idea what they are charging tourists for these scraps of aluminium at Indian Temples these days.
