2007 Costa Rica 50 Colones

I have two 50 colones coins, one from 2012 and one from 2007. They look very different as the size and font of the 50 is different on each. However, I can't seem to find an image of the 2007 coin on this site. The one I have looks more like how the 2002 coin looks. I have never had a coin that didn't match before so I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about this. I thought normally coins were put on this site as separate entries if they looked different, but the only way I can find to select the 2007 coin is in the same entry as the 2012 coin which looks different.

Does this graphic from the coin page explain it?

powwow

Only when they have a different reference numbers (which mostly mean the differences are significant, not minor). The big question of course is where is the line between minor and significant. Krause is not consistent about this. Sometimes they give a new reference number, sometimes they don't (like in this case for the Costa Rica 50 colones) and sometimes they give a new subnumber (a very good example of these are the Guatemala, 1 centavo KM# 275 (N#2438), 5 centavos KM# 276 (N#2260), 10 centavos KM# 277 (N#2259) and 25 centavos KM# 278 (N#2437) coins with each several subnumbers. But like I've said what's minor? When you look at the difference between Guatemala KM# 277.4 and KM# 227.5, I certainly would call that minor but who am I:

KM#277.4 has plain field around monolith while KM#277.5 has bushy field around monolith.
