Australian Penny

Hi

I have found an Australian penny with QE2 on one side and the other is kangaroo dated 1904, weight and size exact to other pennies, sides show flat sections, mint mark and KG all shown, could I get help in trying to figure this coin out.

Pictures would help. Obviously it can't be from 1904.

Also, the first Australian penny was made in 1911.

Is it a 1964 where the top of the 6 has disappeared, or the top of the loop in the 6 has been knocked pushing it upwards?

Thank you for your quick reply, I have since then found one more dated 1903, I have attached photos.

Were any fantasy coins made with Australian currency?

 Definitely altered, hence the white stuff around both the 0 numbers. 

Especially '1904' as the added 0 overlaps the 4 number and is tilted. 

The ‘1903’ has the 0 slightly smaller, and mangled. 

For them to be fantasy coins they would have to have been made by a company - 

these were not. An individual made them - not too bad, but not too good either.

I love how it shows Elizabeth II on it when the coin is dated 22 years before she was even born
