Weird 1816 Half Crown [solved]

8 posts • viewed 103 times

One question regarding this half crown ….. had the coin for sale for $50 and suddenly someone offer me $450

What's missing here ?

If somebody saw you selling 450 dollars coin for 50 dollars, they would have bought it from you for 50 dollars.

Just put the coin at auction ……. maybe something USA Colonial ….. it's my guess …..

Looking better maybe Middle East for the “13” number on reverse ……..

450 USD would be for MS-61 graded coin. Your is not that.

At least five available for sale in online European shops with prices between 75 and 450. 450 one is good quality coin from expensive shop.

The point was that person offering higher price was likely trying to scam you. Probably by offering to take down auction and sell coin to them directly while bypassing auction payment controls.

Thank you but there's nothing to do with the grade ….. it's about the counterstamps ….. not easy to scam on me and the buyer seems legit with many feedbacks …. I also have 420.000 deals done but Numismatics always amazes me !
