When I export my collection, the way that the ‘Ruling Authority’ column is notated isn't very logical.

I think it should be written in a way that it can be sorted chronologically when needed.
Something like:

1952-2022 • Elizabeth II (House of Windsor)

2022-date • Charles III (House of Windsor)

The way it is now, Elizabeth II comes after Charles III when I sort it. And Queen Anne comes after George V!! Doesn't make sense.

Same with the column ‘Currency’.

Instead of sorting on the name of the currency, I think it would be more logical to have them chronological.

So that, for Gibraltar for example, the pound (1971-date) comes AFTER the real (1802-1861).

Why not sort by date as 1st then Ruling Authority or Currency as 2nd?

Why not sort by date as 1st then Ruling Authority or Currency as 2nd?

I want to sort by currency first, then face value.
If I sort by date first, the face value sorting would be all wrong.

I think I see. You want the sort to be the same currency sorted by face value but you then want Ruling Authority chronologically sorted at the third level? So like this?

UK

Pound sterling 1 Farthing George V 1920

Pound sterling 1 Farthing George VI 1939

Pound sterling 1 Farthing Elizabeth II 1953

instead of:

Pound sterling 1 Farthing Elizabeth II 1953

Pound sterling 1 Farthing George V 1920

Pound sterling 1 Farthing George VI 1939

I think it makes more sense this way, yes.
I don't really care what House a monarch was/is from,
and I don't want them sorted alphabetically, I want them chronologically.
On the website, they are sorted that way, why not on the excel export list?

And for currencies;
Years are a much better way to sort than just the name of the currency.

You already get this when you add date as the third sort.

Pound sterling 1 Farthing George V 1920

Pound sterling 1 Farthing George VI 1939

Pound sterling 1 Farthing Elizabeth II 1953

It just seems awkward to me to change all the ruler entries to this format

1952-2022 • Elizabeth II.

1549-1550; 1555; 1559 • Guido Ascanio Sforza di Santa Fiora (Sede Vacante)
