Request for Identification and Valuation of Ancient Greek Coin (Athena & Owl) [solved]

4 posts • viewed 77 times

Hello Numista community,

I would like to kindly ask for your help in identifying and evaluating this ancient coin from my collection.

I have attached clear pictures of both sides of the coin:

Obverse: A depiction of the head of Athena wearing a crested helmet.

Reverse: An owl standing right, with an olive branch and crescent behind, and Greek inscription

I would like to know:

1. The exact historical period and city of origin.

2. Estimated market value.

3. Any additional information about its rarity or authenticity.

Thank you very much for your time and expertise!

Without pictures, it will be very difficult for anyone to help you. Could you please post clear pictures of each side of your item?

Hello and welcome to Numista!

If it is real then probably this coin. Weight and diameter always need to be included to help with identifications.

Unfortunately a very bad fake of an Athenian tetradrachm. If you’re able to, get a refund on it.
