I have finally got the Prince of modern Irish coins into my collection - the 1943 ½ Crown!

It turned up recently in my home town of Wanganui.

It was an absolute steal at 50 New Zealand Dollars!

Please let me know what you think.

Aidan.

I don't have a hole lot to say about it …

Just call me Bram

No new swaps for the moment, still too many half-ongoing swaps to clean up!

Bren, you will need to have extremely deep pockets for ones in higher grades - worth thousands in any currency!

Only 500 examples are known to have been confirmed in total in various grades.

So happy that this one came my way here in New Zealand - & it was a coin I was so happy to snap up to fill in another gap in my collection.

Aidan.

Nice! That is one key date I will never fill.

I went to a coin show in Manchester NH, USA, yesterday,

There is one for sale there in mint state for $US950.

Nicely done BC! A steal at 50 bucks. Chance favours the prepared mind, especially for rarities when they turn up.

Congratulation! I own the EF40 one listed in Ucoin.net. I got lucky finding it raw in a small town auction. It’s unfortunate that it got the harshly cleaned comment but still a great find.

Very nice find! But why did you drill it?

It was already like that when I bought it off the friendly dealer earlier this year - who found it like that in a collection of Irish coins over here in New Zealand - in my home town of Wanganui, of all places!

I got that, it was one of my silly jokes. Still wondering why somebody does such terrible thing, I mean the drilling.

@CajunStacker , I have seen the one on Ucoin in a slab under your user name.
