Hi there!

 

I am new to Numista.

 

Can anybody help me with information about this piece?

 

Its the size of 1 gersh, but it has no denomination on it,  bbut has a floral design instead.

 

I think it might be silver plated.

 

Any help would be appreciated!

Looking at the shape of the collar/necklace, I can't find anything similar in the catalogue or on google. Maybe a reproduction omitting the denomination to avoid counterfeiting laws? What's the weight and diameter?

Hi all,

Thanks for ur input!

Its about 1.7cm across. 

I thought it might be a copy, but it has an unusual date, 1889, and has been suspended.

I just doubted someone would bother making their necklace from a fake.

I have read there's some unique commemorative issues of Menelik and wondered if (hope) this might be such!!!???
