Plea to save russian empire kopeck data.

Plea to recover the data from the site: http://silver-copeck.ru

It was a mine of information on all the kopecks of the Russian Empire. Unfortunately, it is closed.

Some collectors were upset by this loss of valuable information and vacuumed the site data up.

A Japanese site: http://www.a-saida.jp/ served as a relay for a while, then closed.

There is only one copy left, made by an American: https://kyiv2014.com/copeck/index.html, which could close at any time.
Numista would be a stable haven for this information.
I know, copyright-wise, it's not that simple.

I am in the process of saving them as pdfs. Do you want me to send it to you after I am done?

The Earth is a Triangle

I think the Numista site would be a better backup and the idea of saving everything in pdf is a great idea !

Oh yes, I was just saying, if it goes down before we back it up, at least we still have the raw data. But yes, hoping it goes up on Numista.

The Earth is a Triangle

1. archive.org

2. httrack can download entire site for you instead of frantically printing pdfs.

site needs index.html fix anyway for better navigation

Ivan IV to Peter I information is sold as a book.

Гришин И.В., Клещинов В.Н., Храменков А.В - Каталог русских монет от Ивана Грозного до Петра Великого. Второе издание. Москва, 2021 г.

Older stuff

Зайцев В.В. Русские монеты XIV−XVII вв. Очерки по нумизматике. Москва, 2016.

Гулецкий Д.В., Петрунин К.М. - Русские средневековые монеты, 2017

P.S. Russian empire did not issue any wire money. People issuing those silver and copper cuts held titles of dukes or czars at that time. Czar is king and not emperor.

I vacuum it up.

Available (for a certain amount of time) on dropbox

The result and the links seem good for what I tested.

Referee of south atlantic islands

Hello,

We made a similar project a few years ago: a copy of the now-closed website Monnaies et Variétés is hosted at https://monnaiesetvarietes.numista.com/

I would be happy to preserve the data of silver-copeck.ru in a similar manner, as long as the authors agree. I understand the content was created by В.Н. Клещинова and И.В. Гришина. Does anyone know a way to contact them?

Site owner was С.В. Нефедов

https://web.archive.org/web/20220309005016/http://silver-copeck.ru/

Last Cyrillic link in bottom left got his email address.

“Если у Вас есть вопросы и предложения пишите.” = If you got questions or suggestions, write an email.

Гришин and Клещинов published several books for Ivan IV to Peter I period that he used.

How can I download this gif ? I'm clueless 🥲

That remind me of that episode when Jacques Chirac, our former French president asked on 1996  "The mouse? What do we call the mouse?"

I used cli download manager, but right click and save image should work too unless I got some restrictive archive.org javascripts nuked. It is 50x50 image with e4debc color, if color picker is correct. It is possible that stuff got some extra colors mixed in. Any white image will probably work too. Pages could use color in css instead of image.

It's the brown background of the original website, my extraction doesn't get anybackground.

I haven't found a way to download this gif yet.

Thanks a lot tokul,

I've corrected all faults and updated the file on dropbox !

Great job guys. It’s so cool to see you preserving such knowledge, it’s one of the great things about this website!

Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!

Looking for pre 1783 coins

that info is based on 2007 data at best. Pskov and Novgorod info is from books that are no longer restricted by copyright.

Later reference books changed numbering after 2016 discoveries.
