Actual print date? Where did 1981 come from?

Another strange one, I keep finding these oddities every time I get a new note.

The 3mm numeral note has (1981) after it, but the not the 4mm.

Where did that come from? And why just the 3mm numeral?

I also have some 2 Fen notes, and I don't see mention of 1981 on those.

Probably means that the note was printed and issued in 1981 (dated 1953 - issued 1981). I am just guessing here.

Found these. No clue if they're accurate.

I just want to know if anyone can tell me why the note with serial numbers is only worth $1.20? I would like to know as I do not mind getting this note again. I got mine for $20 and that was back in 2002. There are a few selling on eBay right now and neither of them are that cheap.
