I just added a Masonic Shekel and was curious if anyone knows what the meaning behind the center characters are. “& 2/4 ᐤ”
I do not recall ever seeing them before.

That is not an ampersand but a treble clef 𝄞 and the beat looks more like ¾ than 2/4 the o is a note.
