Can the following mint or mints please be added.

Herbert Alvin Sharpe

H.A.S.

Examples

Mardi Gras Token - Elks Krewe of Orleanians (Delgado Museum; New Orleans, Louisiana) - United States – Numista

N#163325

The Nutcrackers Carnival Club - Mood Indigo (New Orleans, Louisiana) - United States – Numista

Sharpe operated by himself at first till Educoin opened. He was engraver and designer

Article below says he worked freelance at first, then was a founding partner with Educoin. It collapsed shortly after Barco Mint opened.

Hello JLHare,

I guess they were not yet added as some more info is required for addition.

Next to the name

ex. Herbert Alvin Sharpe

exact location of the mint

Start year and end year (If still producing today also this info is needed)

This additional info would be the minimum for addition.

Thank you,

Paul

I have attempted to find that information. There may be someone with better searching abilities than I that can find that information. Or there are just somethings that will be lost to time.

Herbert Alvin Sharpe seems to be the engraver and also inventor of the first Mardi Gras Dubloons Online I found the info that all his dubloons were minted by a firm in Ohio.

So I cannot add him as a mint but if not already in our database he should be added as engraver. Which Ohio based mint produced the tokens I could not find.

Barco Mint and New Orleans Mint are added

“Educoin facilitated the outsourcing of mass production to facilities in Ohio and Mississippi”

That makes Educoin not the mint but the Issuing entity.
