Chinese junk

New to this so excuse my ignorance. I have a coin which has Sun Yat Sen on one side and a junk on the other. I found a similar one on ebay but the script on the junk side differed. I'd appreciate help in proper identification as there are many fakes. Also is it silver and approximate value if authentic.

Not sure what you have but it not a copy of any coin ever made.

Apparently the script near the head of Sun Yat sen says “Eighty -year-old Hui people in Central China.”

You can search for ‘Junk’ or ‘Sun Yat-sen’ in Numista's catalogue yourself. I did so, and there are no coins which combine this obverse with that reverse. It is a fantasy coin, and given the mediocre quality and artificial wear and patina, it is probably a cheap one, < USD 2.00.

There are several ways to test if the coin is really silver, which I doubt. Least intrusive tests are with a super magnet, a piece of toilet tissue or an ice-cube. If you search the Numista forum for ‘silver test’, you will find the how-to's.

Thanks very much, Arnov.
