There were notable surges in memberships from Angola, Bahamas, Egypt, Germany, Kuwait, Norway, Syria and Yemen.
Andorra, Aruba, Ascension Island, Bahrain, Brunei, Cambodia, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Faroe Islands, Gabon, Guadeloupe, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Jamaica, Kiribati, Macau, Marshall Islands, Martinique, Mauritania, Mauritius, Nicaragua, Pitcairn Islands, Qatar, Sudan, Tuvalu, Western Sahara and Zambia each gained one new member.

Of the top 20 nations, Mexico grew the fastest in May (3.8% increase), while Italy grew the slowest (0.6%). The USA grew by 1.1% and France grew by 1.4%.
