Bank of England to redesign banknotes

1 post • viewed 68 times

The Bank of England plans to introduce new banknotes in the near future and would like to hear feedback from the public about potential themes for the next series of banknotes.

Since 1970 every banknote issued has featured a historical figure, potential themes are.

  • Nature (Like on some of the African/Caribbean notes).
  • Arts, culture and sport (Similar to what’s depicted on commemorative notes from Fiji etc).
  • Noteworthy events.
  • Innovation.
  • Architecture and landmarks (Similar to what’s depicted on Scottish and Euro notes)
  • Continue with historic figures.

The monarch will still be retained on the obverse.

Hi to whoever is reading this. Did you know that TYPEWRITER (on a QWERTY keyboard) is the longest word you can type using only the letters on one row of the keyboard.
