Silver coloured 1907 One Penny

Hi,

I picked this up today out of curiosity. Does anyone know why it looks to be made from a silver coloured metal, as opposed to the normal copper?

Thanks

Tom

Because somebody silver plated it.

If plated there must be bits worn off showing Bronze ?

Not necessarily depending on the silver thickness, wear, etc. but in this case there are many areas with the silver gone.
