Abolition of slavery.

In my sons quest to collect a coin from every country, I came upon a 7 coin Abolition of Slavery set for the West African States. From 2007, each are 2500 francs, depicting famous people or events that helped bring the end slavery.

I see on the sight that no one has one. My question then is are these 7 coins a commemorative series issued by the West African states or are they something minted by a private party?
You can see them here about 1/4 the way down the page, under "ABOLITION OF SLAVERY SILVER COIN SET".

http://www.joelscoins.com/africa.htm

It says "The coins are privately issued silver Essai (pattern) coin."  They calls it an "Essai" coin, which generally means it's not meant for circulation, and is a test or sample coin, or used for testing mint equipment.  At least, that's what it used to mean, now countries mint "essai" coins as a means of income.

IMO, they are not real currency.  That's not to say there are not collectible.  I know we've posted in the recent past about our sons wanting a coin from every country.  One thing I learned is that those 8 countries shown on these 8 coins use one common currency called the West African Franc, so getting a "real" coin to represent each of those countries is probably difficult.
Hey nice to hear from ya. How is it going on your end? I believe I'm up to 40 countries.
And thanks for the help. Read that on Joel's too, just didn't know what it meant. Makes sense though.
And yeah, I noticed the West African states are like the Caribbean who use the East Caribbean dollar. Saw these 7 coins and was a little skeptical.
Though it really doesn't matter, I wonder if the 7 coins would be accepted on this site.
yes i have one of these coins in this set too its the ivory coast or cote d'ivoirre 2500 franc with the slave chained and kneeling will they list it individually
