Buffalo Mint Mark help

Hello,

Need an extra set of eyes or younger (or older eyes) . The more I look at this mint mark the more flummoxed I become. Looking at it further out it looks like S but the closer I get the more it could be a D. The obverse is dated 1913 , that I can tell.

So what say all of ye?

The clearest is the left bar of D

For comparison, the 1913 nickel mint mark styles:

Yes , thanks ….it seems to be a D based on the style you provided. I have often noticed that the styles of the D and S vary a lot from year to year. Is there a glossary some where of that I wonder?

Of course my eyes where probably wanting it to be an S but a D is also nice. After you sit and stare at it from multiple angles with varying light sources you just throw up your hands and ask. 😛

Thanks for the input.

This is the source I use.  It has mint mark styles for different denominations and all the mint/tears.  http://varietyvista.com/index.htm
