Greetings !
Like my subject says, allow me to vent .
Received a request to swap from a person . They chose 42 coins right off the bat. Sure , I said lets do this . Said I was going to need about 2 days or so because I said it is busy, which it truly is for me. I have medical issues/ family obligations that dig into my leisure time, if you will , nothing astouding just age type stuff . Requires me to go to Houston off and on, about a 200 mile trip.
OK, I said I will check your coins out , in essence give me a while. I also threw a message out there to ask what his expectations, “ground rules” that they believe to make sure they enjoy a fair swap. I usually do this because the variability in “ground rules” amongst members here are legion. He came back with an explanation, and it all sounded good. I went in and chose 2 coins and then said I was not done. I needed to assess the worth of what they chose against his annotated charges like it seemed they wanted. One thing lead to the next and I was taken away from reviewing his coins . OK, my bad , maybe it was going to take 3 days.
The next morning (which started with them way earlier than I get up) they messaged if I was going to choose some more , evidently they were impatient because he then proceeded to deny the swap (again, before I even got up or answered his message!) . Upon seeing his message when I woke up, I explained to him my delay was medical related and I would be doing that this day (the 3rd day after his swap request came in.) To my dismay I found out he blocked me !!! Whiskey Tango Alpha Foxtrot!! ( Ex Navy Vet here, figure it out)
All because I did not turn on a dime and start working on his stuff!! Give me a break!!
Make sure all you folks out there in Numista realize that there are different things going on with a lot of folks you engage in a swap with, be they medical, work related , family related etc . After all, this swap business is not a paying gig , at least for me it isnt ! Have some patience and understanding!
There I vented ….
