Discussion about Eschwege, City of • 10 Pfennigs

This entry is for 10 Pfennigs Eschwege - 1920, but the details list both the 1919 and 1920 versions of similar notes.  (E27.5b for 1919 and E27.6b for 1920)

Given that the year features in the design, they should perhaps be different entries. I will be able to provide a scan of an UNC 1920 variant

Hello!

Actually, we need an image of the 1919 banknote. That way we can check if there are any notable differences that would justify separate entries. Can you get an image from 1919?

The catalog has an image - i don't have a 1919 myself

Grabbed these from the net so can't be used here.  I would think these two should be separate?

Hello! Without a doubt... the colors are quite different.

Would you happen to know (or research) how many of these emissions there were during that period? Many years and many distinct colors for that 10 pfennig note?

according to Deutsches Notgeld Band 5 2004 (Grabowski) there's only a 1919 issue and a 1920 issue.

The 1919 issue is E27.5a (5 Pf), 5b (10 Pf) and 5c (50Pf) - 1919 5a/5b without SN, 5c with SN

The 1920 issue is E27.6a (5 Pf), 5b (10 Pf) - 1920 issue without watermark and serial number

Correct.
So, if you find any 1919 copy at an auction house that authorizes the use of images by the Numista, you can request its inclusion, mentioning this forum. =)
Thank you!
