catawiki postage costs

Is it me or are a lot of Catawiki Auction sellers taking the p**s. Especially from the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

40 Euros postage for one coin!!!   I  for one have contacted them, but their response is as usual negative. Also I have tried to put lots on for sale, but get knocked back by their “ experts ”  ( very snobbish attitude I find )  only to see similar or less valuable items permitted ( perhaps I am in their bad boy books for complaining)  so I will continue mostly with ebay, wallapop and todo coleccion . Very good sites with fair postal charges, and some good items apart from the usual dumbo's asking for thousands for coins I can't sell for 6 Euros. Also , has anyone else out there been kicked out of ETSY  ( I was  in June ) for trying in error to sell a Syrian coin ( my Arabic is not very good ) and some current euro coins which are against their policies, although I should point out that they still have pages and pages of currently legal euro coins for sale???

WHAT ARE THEY LIKE ???

I've run into many issues over the years with postage. Person to person is usually fine, but when buying lots from auction or an online coin dealer in other countries shipping can get quite expensive. Many countries disallow sending currency of any kind unless it is first class or a priority tracked mail which can cost double or triple the standard mailer.  I've always had good success with ebay, their shipping seems decent no matter where its coming from and I've never had a package lost through ebay.

My own experience with Deutsche Post (German postal service) is that they have an issue with “sticky fingers”, especially when it comes to registered mail, it simply disappears from the surface of the earth. Now, many auction houses only send as value mail (Wertbrief) or by courier - and that's expensive.

That's interesting to know. The only problem here in Spain is dopey couriers who try to deliver to shop addresses during the afternoon when Spanish shops  close from 2pm to 5 or 6 pm more or less, and the same applies to Correo postmen. because I live very rural in Spain I don't get mail deliveries, so I have a PO box in my nearest town, but any large parcels such as Amazon stuff goes  to my local vet.
