Examples

I was trying to have an example of a coin type  deleted because the example of the coin is now the default picture of that coin type. Unfortunately the request was rejected because as of right now, there is no rule regarding using default photos as examples of a year/mint. 
 

Should default pictures of any item be used as “examples of the type” and be part of datelines?

I do not see why not, as there is for now no way to reuse the image of the page as an example for a yearline other than adding it again as an example.
