Coin Culls

Question for you all: Every time you search world coins, what do you do with the coin culls (aka damaged coins) that you find?

For me, I pull all the damaged coins aside and put them into a bag:

And who knows what I would do with them.

Here is a sample of what is inside the bag:

All of these are mostly discolored coins, street coins, bent coins, scratched coins, etc.

I hear every coin you jingle!

If they're still exchangeable I spend them however I can (even the Mexico 50c and Austrian 1 schilling, they're still good), otherwise they go with the rest of the duplicates and get sold/traded by weight, since I have people who want it anyways

I was undecided if to just scrap / melt down holed silver/half silver coins so just kept popping them into a jar.

Then I decided to go “old school” and make them back into what they likely once were holed to probably make ….. a charm bracelet

Somehow it makes me feel better to be keeping them rather than them being lost forever.

Costs me more to add them then they are worth but since so many of these kind of bracelets have now been melted down mine is becoming more unique - so I keep telling myself and am sticking to that story 😄

As for other coins I have a bucket and pop duplicates, upgraded plus damaged coins in there but haven't got a plan as yet what's going to happen to it there's a good 12kg at the moment but I don't trade or sell nor have I been out of the country in the last 20 years so spending them isn't going to happen….. I'm pondering I should find a local household auction and pop them in there as a job lot.
