Hi Numista Crew,

I am once again looking for any help on identifying this Copper coin. 22/19mm in diameter. Google Lens and a separate app were telling me either an India Princely State or Afghanistan coin, but after going through catalogue for Afghanistan Falus' and India ¼ Anna's i have not been able to match it. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

you won't be able to match it because it is multi overstruck. Very typical of Afghan civic copper coins of which l have accumulated large numbers over time. Some can be attributed to a mint if bits of script are readable, common ones are found from Kabul, Kandahar, ones with flowers, leaves swords or animals are more desirable.  yours has a pentagon symbol and  has part of the word Falus  meaning copper coin

Thank you very much again Vic65 for your info on the coin, that helps immensely.

I have found one on my coin trays, I was certain I had seen one somewhere 🙃 it's attributed in Valentine as Kandahar mint, page 181/ 89

in the centre of the pentagon is the word Adl which means  fair, honest, just, to show the coin is acceptable

Wow, overstruck on an Afghan kandahar hand falus, that is unique N#473726

I can't see a trace of the hand just overstruck bits of script, where do you see it? I have a few of the hand type

EDIT: maybe you are right, could be a hand
