South Indian 8 cash? 5 cash?

These two coins are from a lot. Both of them have elephant on one side. This made me think Mysore but I could find nothing in numista or zeno that matches the other side.  They look like Roman numerals but I am skeptical that they are indeed & and 5. 

Both coins weigh approx 2.5 gms and are 10-11 mm 

Would appreciate any help!

I am not much help unfortunately, the Elephant looks weird to me, like it's got a head each end 😮

It has some characteristics of Mysore with the crossed lines although no vertical ones, some of the Mysore ones have a W symbol and probably others. The other coin does appear to have a letter V, the angular style suggests Nepal and surrounding area to me
