coin identification [solved]

4 posts • viewed 78 times

Dear coin enthusiasts,

Please help me identify this coin. My grandpa found it by the river while fishing in Eastern Europe.

In its current condition, it weighs about 2.4 grams, and the largest measured diameter is 19 mm.

I know it is in poor condition and not easy to identify, so I’m really counting on your expertise and imagination.

All the best to you all,

Best wishes,
Tau

A denarius for Hadrianus (roman emperor). Coin must be in silver 🙂

But no so far 🙂

Thank you very much, I really appreciate your help.

A denarius of Hadrian sounds like a very interesting and plausible direction. The fact that it is likely silver also fits what I suspected.

I understand it is not the same as N#255101, but your answer gives me a very helpful lead for further searching.

Best wishes,
Tau
