The Saint George Thaler

3 posts • viewed 71 times

Hello everyone,
I would appreciate your help with identifying and evaluating this coin.
It appears to be a silver taler from Mansfeld, dated around the 1520–1530 period. The obverse shows Saint George slaying the dragon, and the reverse features the Mansfeld coat of arms.
I believe it is authentic, but I would like to confirm:
1. exact attribution (ruler / type / catalog reference if possible)
2. approximate date
3. estimated value based on its condition
Thank you in advance!

It is dated exactly 1530 as the date is small and divided, near the top.
