says Victoria 1897-1901  doesn't stick to magnet - slotted sides - weighs 24.9 grams

It doesn't appear to be a coin.

Looks like a commemorative medal.

Unfortunately, there is a plethora of Queen Victoria medals.

Did you try a Google image search?

There is that page - second and third pictures -

which has one side the same - the other blank as it was a seal.

Quote: A relief impression of the original 1885 seal attached to Queen Victoria's Royal Charter.

With relief depiction of Queen Victoria on horseback with harp and shamrock motif at base.

So the design was used on other items.

Lettering on Reverse of the Medal:

VICTORIA DEI GRATIA BRITANNIARUM REGINA FIDEI DEFENSOR

That is the Seal from the Auction. Now looking for the VICTORIA 1837 - 1901 medal …

“So the design was used on other items”.

Which indeed was used on the reverse of a recent item -

Quote: The reverse … shows the Great Seal of the Realm of the United Kingdom as

used by Queen Victoria from 1838 until 1860. A youthful figure of Queen Victoria is depicted,

holding a sceptre, riding an elaborately caparisoned horse lead by a page on the left.

Around the rim, which has a crown on top, the Queen's legend in the traditional Latin:

VICTORIA · DEI · GRATIA · BRITANNIARUM · REGINA · FIDEI · DEFENSOR, which means

Victoria by the Grace of God, Queen of the British, Defender of the Faith.

Still looking for the medal …

Well I spent a lot of time on Google before I posted it here. Are commerative coins minted with the serated edges?  If it was a fake shouldn’t I be able to find more? Real or not?  So weird.
