Hi There,
This one pound is supposed producing in 1987 and 1992, but I have one which dated 1996? Is it a counterfeit item?

I guess it's a fake, there are a myriad of them often with mismatched die designs and/or dates on top of being crap quality.

Forgery, the reason that the mint changed the design was because it was estimated that over one million were in circulation
