Ireland - Emergency coinage 1/2 penny 1796 Dublin

Hi,

Is this a counterfeit or maybe it could be a missing year from the catalogue of en.numista.com/52791? (which has only 1792)

Firstly, “Camac” looks closer to “HALF PENNY”.

But it has at least “DUBLIN” on the edge. I could say that it might be “DUBLIN AND CORK AND…”

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

What I could find more, is that 1796 could be a rare variant or a later strike. P.S. it has aprox. 8.8 g

Maybe could you modity the date in the title ?

Definitely worth adding to the catalogue listing.

Aidan.

Asimov37, what do you mean to modify the date?

Aidan, thanks, maybe you can figure it out what is written on the edge😂😁

Mihai

I see you've corrected the date on title: 1796 vs 1976, that's much better !
