Preset reference catalog?

When I search for a coin I get this without a reference catalog (it used to be pre-set to KM!)

I suggest that each member can give his preference in his profile. I work on the basis of KM in my collection, so I would like to tell the search machine to already give me “KM” as the reference catalog. Members should be able to select their favorite references.

Is that very difficult to introduce?

Another option would be to always show the most recently used catalog reference.

I'm not sure which approach I would prefer, either would be better than leaving it blank.

Agree.  Removing the default KM also broke the sort function in My collection. https://en.numista.com/forum/topic176650.html#p1338907

I have resorted to a toolbar bookmark for Coins that preloads KM in the reference filter (but that doesn't fix the My collection sort function).
