I have an an American history book in German from 1893. It was used by Germans to become Americans. It is called American history, Milwaukee, Wi, 1893 by Brumber. It's part of history and would like to find a good home for it. I know teachers don't make much money so if you want it PM me; if you want to send some new German coins that would be nice. I have looked at the schools and such and they all have it. This is not for sale - I am looking for a good home for it. In either the US or Germany, or anywhere.

It is, what it is, or is it.
Maybe in America they don't; teachers are well paid here and get great holidays ! Ha
Not here that's why Americans are not very smart any more.

Well paid? What are you talking about Mark? Great holidays...well deserved holidays maybe.  ;(  Not happy but won't lecture on.

Thanks Daryl for the offer of the book but I'm ok.
They are great holidays nowhere else will you get holidays like that and the pay is still above the average pay. My comp teachers were all on 30k a year plus,

Maybe exaggerated with great pay but good pay at least.
Hey I got it, for a 1903 post card in it, and have this thing of just throwing away something over 100 years old.
And let's face it we are coin collectors and with that comes history. So we are somewhat history nuts too.

If you don't find a teacher I know of one of our members who is a German > American transplant.
Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.

Thank you Phil - if no-one wants after a few day I will PM you. I do get some strange stuff; just got 4 books of matches from WW2 .V for victory, and buy war saving bonds and stamps. Not sure what to do with the extras.

Teachers don't get holidays. I come from a family of teachers and I can attest to that. My grandfather was a teacher, my parents were both teachers and my sister is a teacher. Although they are paid pretty well and seem to get good holidays, in reality they don't.

My father was head of science and maths at my school and worked from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm every day, marking tests and homework, weekends were lesson preparation, and holidays were spent marking exams, preparing lesson plans and things for the next term. In today's money he would probably be on close to $80,000 per year, but when you consider he was working basically 60 hour weeks the pay is not that good per hour. And the stress of the job almost killed him.

One of the teachers at the school came out to find a moron jumping up and down on the roof or his car.  He dragged the boy off, the parents complained that he manhandled mummy's little darling, and the teacher got fired for unnecessary physical contact.
thank you all for reading and talking about this. Teacher have a spot in my heart, for all they do.
