Some more experienced colleague could explain me how to manually make a holder for storing coins. A colleague of Mexico makes his hand, and seems to get good, I did not understand the process, they do not dominate the Mexican language, but I wonder if other friends already initiating this action which I think is very good, depending on numerous coins that come together over time. If you could direct me to stores in their country of origin, referring to Brazil this thank you, here they are too expensive and is hard to find. Big hug to everyone who can help me
I made a very cheap coin cabinet from a low-cost plastic office paper filing cabimnet (the draws are about 2 cm deep. I lined the draws with baize (the cloth found on pool tables) which stops the coins from sliding about. Its not great, but with coin cabinets costing so much money here in the UK, this solution proved ideal for a generic collector of (worthless) foreign coins like me.
Hi Andre
I started keeping my coins in plastic pages in an album.
As my collection increased the binders became heavier, so I made a cabinet which holds more than 1000 coins.
The sides of the cabinet have grooves and each 'shelf' made of 3mm MDF which slides in the groove.
To prevent the coins slipping I cut a mat to fit on the shelf. The mat can be obtained from a kitchen shop or hardware dealer.
Now it is very easy to see any coin and add another one.
I posted a picture of this cabinet you can see in a posting Abettuz in 25 Nov 2010 in page 5
Hope this helps. Keith
