Maybe the reason is, there was no "official/unified" Romanian Kingdom there yet, but Ottoman Empire there at that time, and hence its official coins circulating around

Interestingly there are a lot of 19th century Romanian coins around in Turkey, I got some 1867 bronze banis very cheaply from my local flea market; but it may do with modern trade. But I have also seen some 19th century Romanian silver holed and used as costume decorations together with Ottoman coins here, so I beleive Romanian silver did arrive here in those times.
