It's not about the gold, the French coin has way more history. It was minted during the French revolution and has enough wear to give it some history but not so much that it deflects from the eye appeal. You've got a wonderful piece of history there.

Damn! My gold coin is up against a French coin. French forum, my eye is on you

#1. It looks great, the Austrian heraldic eagle is a classic, it's such a great coin they had to restrike it, etc. etc. etc. - meanwhile the French coin has a naked guy rubbing his naughty bits on the French Constitution.

I think that an original coin from French revolution is better than a gold modern restrike of a Hungarian coin...

I dont hate gold, i like gold.
But on these coin comparisions i vote purely for design and how much i like the look of the coin or if it has some meaning for me, then ofcourse that is taken to account too.
