I'm puzzled (not difficult) about these coins.

Why are some duodecagon shape and others the same denomination round. Is there a round version for every other shape.

I am loving collecting these duo decagon coins (is the Dansco the best album) .

Charles
The round Australian 50c coins were minted in 1966 and are silver (80% silver)

Really, you can pick them up by the roll over here, there's usually guys selling them in lots of 10 or 20, But I just looked and the most they have at the moment is 2 http://www.trademe.co.nz/antiques-collectables/coins/australia/auction-802278728.htm  They usually go for NZ$10-13 each
I think I get circular ones up to a certain date then just the others
This is the story on Aussie 50 Cent coins .....

We have the 1966 Round Silver ones

Then all of the usual Do-Decagon (12 SIDED) ones, definitives and commemoratives.

And now we have the Lunar Year Series of Commemoratives which are Tetra-Decagon (14 SIDED). There have been 4 of these issued up to 2015 starting in 2012
I'll be adding the newer ones to Numista Catalogue soon  ;)

Here is a link to one listed on here..... KM# 2020
